Our newbie help line is open for any player to join, and depending on their level, they'll get designated newbie or helper. While the helpers try to help, they don't always know answers or they may miss questions as they play or they may be idle. Jeremy, I'd like to know who told you to learn on your own or go play somewhere else; that's not typical. If it was on the newbie line, they can be banned from the line.

Combat after the first 2 battles gets much easier. Your first kills should be the manor's butler, cleaver, and pans and the thicket's mosquitos. Those wont hit you hard at all.
